Andaman travel is not as difficult as it may appear. Tourists can also take advantage of public transportation. These are reasonably priced. There are taxis, government and private buses, auto-rickshaws, and small buses to pick from. Bicycles are also available for rent. This is a popular means of transportation among tourists because it is eco-friendly, cost-effective, and a healthy option.
Andaman offers a variety of ferry services for travel between islands. There are several ferries for various purposes. We have included a handful of them for your transportation needs.
Tourist ferries:
Despite their small size, they can carry more than 100 people at once. Upper and lower decks are available. There are also air-conditioned ferries. Unfortunately, there is no canteen or snack shops here, so if you are riding a tourist ferry, make sure you bring everything you need for your journey. However, one disadvantage is that there is no seating on the upper deck. On all sides, you will have unbroken views of the big ocean.
Local ferry:
This ferry is larger in size and offers seating options in both the top and lower decks. The upper deck/bunk is considered a luxury deck with comfortable chairs. The lower deck, on the other hand, just features benches. They do not have any air-conditioned compartments. There is also a snack shop where you may get tea, snacks, and water bottles. The main disadvantage is that, due to its size, it takes twice as long as the tourist boat.
